The base of each section would have an aromatic pulp that is being used as a staple food after cooking. This is one of the important plants in Andaman where all the parts of the plant are usable. The seeds are edible where the steam and the branches of the plant Pandanus are used in construction, the leaves are used for weaving and the rough exterior of the fruit is being used as a bath brush. Mostly found in Andaman, this fruit and the plant is useful for the locals in a number of ways.

The island and the beach destinations in Andaman are not just known among the travellers for the different living forms in the marine world but are also known to house in a number of unique animals in the land that one might never have seen. The Robber crabs or better referred to as the coconut crab is supposed to be the largest living arthropod in the world. These giant crabs usually live in lands but then are found on the coconut tree at night carving a hole through the tender coconut so that they could eat up the tender portion in the inside of the coconut. These fascinating giant crabs are normally found in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago to southern Asia.
